For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him, all things hold together.
COLOSSIANS 1:16-17
In the Biblical world view, we believe that all aspects of life are in some manner touched by Almighty God. His perspective of everything defines reality. In light of that, we are dedicated to helping our students develop intellectually, socially, spiritually, and physically (see Luke 2:52), and we are intent on fostering growth from a perspective that recognizes the preeminence of God. This focus is not superficial but rather, involves cultivating a depth of thinking, learning, and commitment to being and doing that which God intends. To engage life in a manner that honors Him involves a qualitative element in which character underlies what we think, say, and do, prompting the question—is anything less than my best suitable for our incredible God who offers us a relationship with Him and who has enabled us to think, question, reason, discover, move, create, enjoy, grow?
Learning IS an adventure. It can be rewarding in many ways, and even include some fun mixed in with the work involved. We have placed an emphasis on how to help students become better learners and will continue to examine and implement methodologies toward that goal. A student’s job is to be the best full-time student they can be, and we are here to teach them, to challenge them, and to encourage them along the way as they increasingly take ownership of their own learning, and thus becoming “life-long learners.”
As we enthusiastically anticipate the 2019-2020 school year, we look forward to working with our students and their families, both those who have been with us and those who will be new to Heritage. If you believe Heritage Academy might be a good fit for you or you would like additional information, please contact us.
